Thanks managed to fit more shopping in at lunch-time and have now got blue (to match my Vango) fairy lights and battery tea lights from Christmas shop and a dinky windup torch and its a dog how sweet is that?
Will def try and get to Wilko's soon as nearly popped in this week but had to go buy new tyre.
Managed to restrain myself from buying 55.00 Superdry lumberjack hooded shirt for winter camping but was go warm
We're kicking ourselves now - we bought a big roof box 4 yrs ago, used it twice when we drove down to the South of France 2 years running (stayed in a static caravan, we weren't proper campers then LOL), then sold it for half what we paid for it thinking we wouldn't use it again (we've only just got into camping)
We shouldn't be too bad if I don't go too mad buying stuff(!)...we've got a Zafira, and we'll normally only have the little one with us (the older 2 are old enough to stay at home on their own now, although they're more than welcome to come if they want to!) So in theory we should have the boot and half the back seat for our gear...and we've still got the roof bars if push comes to shove :)

2013
March - Pooley Bridge (Pod booked!)
May - Spiers House, Pickering
June - La Garangeoire, Vendee, France
Aug - The Cotswolds?
Must admit we are packing for our trip on thursday and we are taking the same amount of "stuff" but after a summer spending on compact camping gear the boxes have got smaller
Yay!!!!!!! I've just done a deal with the OH - he can go to the football tomorrow night if I'm allowed to order a camping kitchen...surprisingly, he agreed!
So that's another thing I can tick off the list

Quote: ]we have a volvo estate and a trailer and now im looking at a roof box and ive extended the trailer !!!
For two of us, I work on the principle that if I can't fit it all in a Land Rover Discovery, something is wrong. Biggest items are the tent (on the roof rack), sleeping bags and mattresses (one half of the back seat) and fridge (other half of the back seat). Most of the other bits and pieces go in a pair of 64 litre "Really Useful Boxes" in the boot with space for the Cadac, single burner stove, gas cylinder (stopped messing with small ones, too much hassle), tables and chairs. Add some tools and recovery gear if it's a 4x4 related weekend, and it's pretty full, so I can see how families end up with roofboxes and trailers as well.
The nice thing about the disco is for very quick stops I can put the stove and Jet Boil on the back bumper and have a quick brew and hot food without unpacking everything. I just need to make sure I stand there so the door doesn't blow shut in a gust of wind!
