wow i would love to stay in them but no way on this earth would i pay 400 to do so! just stayed on a site this weekend that had four lovely huge tipees set up to hire but at 95quid a night we gave them a wide berth!!
Must be a quiet news day at the Currant Bun - simply reprinting a facile press release isn't exactly hard news reporting is it?
As to the claims in the so-called article "the bizarre transparent structures get people closer to nature than ever before..." and French designer Pierre Stephane Dumas said ..."Having a night under the stars or seeing the sun rise and set is not something that many people experience any more... what utter pollocks.
Those plastic spheres rely on pressure to remain inflated therefore they are much more sealed-off than a conventional tent - even though you can see out, you are isolated from nature. As to seeing the night sky, I spent two nights this weekend doing just that in the open air in front of a lovely warming campfire. And I watched the sun come up from the porch of my tent on Sunday.
Four hundred quid? Someone's taking the pass. You'd be hard put to find many luxury hotels charging that much. But there are probably some rich bankers (with a 'w') who have nothing better to spent their money on.
