help, i want to go to a c&cc Site, the only availability is with a hardstanding pitch, does any one have experience of this, i have only camped on grass before.
many thanks in advance for your valuable advise

Yes there is, it will require rock pegs and lump hammer. Also some sort of groundsheet protector as the gravel could puncture / abrade groundsheet.
I would give the site a ring, they don't bite and then will advise on best approach. The C&CC sites have two types, gravel and plastic reinforced, hard standings.

We once stayed at Sandy Balls campsite where they had these gravel pitches. I absolutely hated it.
Tent + grass = camping. Pure and simple.

Most hardstanding pitches arn't concrete, they are just gravel/shale & can be unpleasant & dirty in the wet & as stated ain't very good for tents. You will be able to knock rock pegs in tho.
