we,ve just brought a vango killington 600 and i cant actually get it up on my garden as its too big could someone please help me and tell me what size pitch in meters i would need as we would love to actually use it many thanks
Err no, as James says 8.8m x 8.6m PLUS guy ropes and you'd normally need to allow a metre in each direction for guys so you're over 10 metres in each direction by the time you've added guy ropes.
You also usually need to be able to park your car on your pitch and to use it for your own seating space etc.
Check what requirements the site has regarding fire breaks, often there is a requirement that there must be 6m between each tent, this is achieved by each tent being in the middle section of the pitch so you have to leave a couple of metres free (guys are OK) to form that break.
Even if you can use 10m you're going to be hanging off the side which won't make you very popular with the adjoining campers!
If you're going somewhere with laid out pitches you need something bigger than 10mx10m EVEN if you can use all of the pitch.
Perhaps the 10*10 pitch size was created for that tent eh?
Waiting for suitable weather to put it up is annoying. I've run out of time to pitch mine, before we go to Qatar and the Philippines in the middle of February.
Local tents work best there.
Kind regards James
------------- In the beginning there was darkness.
Then I bought a tent.
I'm not destitute, I'm just poor.
