We didnt have a heater last year, but our Tilley lamp took the chill off the tent,ut we had to keep the tent well ventilated because of the fumes.I bought a gas canister heater, although we haven't used it in the tent yet,it warmed up our kitchen alright. The gas canisters last about 2 -2 1/2 hrs on full.We were out today, and I was tempted,oh so tempted,to buy a fan heater which was on sale new for £6.97 in a home bargains type shop.Just hoping to help.

Why didn't I buy 1....

If I have to use any form of gas in my two man tent,I always have a very sharp Stanley Knife handy.I would not want to be trapped with no way out.

Hi we have a gas heater that screws into the top of our big gas bottle. We only ever use it for short periods of time and only if it gets really cold. I always take it with us but it often doesnt come out of the box.

I have no worries about using gas heaters, so long as you are careful with them. We have camped for 15 years and have never had EHU. There is a lot to be said for thermals with plenty of layers, a good sleeping bag, hot water bottles and wine to keep warm!
