Ok Dezzie, hopefully a little more constructive for you. Been doing a bit of research and taking the hight of the VW in the picture, which I managed to find on the VW commercial web site, and then looking at the dimensions of the NL I think that the two will link up very well.
Taking into account that the awning is designed to stand alone, unlike a BL side canopy, it does not need the guy lines that run over the top of the tent to keep it in place, which was one of your concerns I believe. Now I recon that with a bag of C clips and a needle and thread you could crack this by adding the C clips to the awnings elasticated panels at regular intervals which you could then simply clip to the 2 upright poles either side of the side door and also to the horizontal stabilising pole that runs over the door on the NL. Then with the awning closely fitted to the NL and the NL door opened into the awning you should have a very snug fit.
Edit: Actually thinking about it Dezzie you could use Velcro if you cant find the right size C clips, just stitch 2 bits to make a loop the same as the light hanger in the NL and then just wrap them around the poles.

Seems like a good idea for anyone who has a tunnel tent with side door.
I'm sure I've seen these somewhere on sale, too, but can't remember where. Anyone else noticed them?
