Should the tent mudflaps of my Cabanon go under the groundsheet or spread out away from the tent? and whats the best way to keep everything in place? Thanks.

Depends what side your pegging points are. If they are o the inside the flaps will go outside, outside and they go inside. What do you mean by keeping everything in place?

Mudflaps on a Cabanon Pacific go inside the tent. You can then just lay your groundsheet over them (if you choose to use one), to keep out drafts. Positioning stuff around the edge of the tent is then usually sufficient to stop it from blowing about (the mudflaps are pretty heavy duty, anyhow). No need to peg the groundsheet (or the inners, for that matter, since beds and bedding holds them down okay and in shape).

Have you got a new tent, by any chance?

Hi as Erroutdoors says - mudflaps inside.

If you look in my gallery there are pics of 3 Cabanons, the last one is my Adventure (similar to the Pacific) and it clearly shows the pegging points outside and no sign of mudflaps. When the tent is pegged out, the mudflaps lie neatly inside and if you then place a groundsheet over them (slightly larger is better - gives a good 'seal') then you get the benefits you would if you had a SIG. A few heavy objects around the edge will hold it all in place.

I don't know about mud flaps on modern tents with sigs, but all canvas frame tents have mud flaps and their use is for keeping the draughts out. Raclet, Trigano & Jamet have outside flaps, Cabanon, Lichfield, Sunncamp & Easycamp tend to have the pegging points outside & the mud flaps inside.

With the tents which have the flaps inside, you can lay a groundsheet on top of the flaps & all the draughts are blocked out. With the outside flaps (where the pegging points are on the inside), you need to peg the flaps out, and use a groundsheet slightly bigger than the tent, so that it comes up the sides to block the draughts.
