I now have 3 bent ones!! How annoying is that!! Only used mine about 3 times - plastic yellow ones - obviously good at finding stones :(

They're fab at holding the tent though :)

That's the only real flaw of the nylon Deltas and is the reason why I have invested in some Delta Rocks. Alternatively, if you are camping on stoney ground then you can use a rock peg to check and to make a guiding hole into which it is then safe to hammer your nylon Delta.

So if we don't know its Stony deltas will bend like any other peg ?

And now I'm being told to bang a peg in first to make sure the delta does not get damaged ?

Bit of a waste of time really if the first peg  goes in why pull it out and put another in I'm on bloomin holiday don't want  to spend hours knocking pegs in

Sorry to all you delta  fans

Because, once the Delta is in the ground it will do its job better than the competition. Spending a little bit of time making sure your tent is pegged properly can make the difference between going home with your tent intact and not.

Wow I've never read anything so heated. I have some deltas and like them got excellent service for Rob. I also have some long wooden pegs bought for camping on sand. Both of these survived a storm my other pegs were pulled out.

Not heated  just a chat

I've never used deltas never felt the need, what did we do before they came along sit with our fingers crossed ,?

Last year we had what I call the perfect storm tent was ruined but all the pegs stayed  put,  some other top brand tents were also damaged. Don't tell me deltas would  of saved  the day ?

There is no doubt that Delta have better ground holding ability that just about any other peg on the market

BUT

Me ,personally ,if the winds a blowing and something has got to give ,I would rather a tent peg pull out of the ground than have my tent peg stay put and rip the pegging point away from my tent .
