Can anyone help please....
My tent fund is burning a hole in my pocket and I need to see some tents before deciding what to buy.
On the list:
BL6 - seen it and know all about it
Clear Lake - read the reviews and woudl like to see one
The Outwell Orange Reef tents - need to see to rule in or out
Cabanon Awaya - never seen one but again read the reviews etc.

So, any recommendations where I might be able to see these tents in the flesh that is within a sensible distance of Leeds? I am not unrealistic and know that it may require visits to a number of different places.

Also, while I am on I would be grateful for any other recommendations. You can see the type of tent I am considering by my list so far - we are basically trading up from our Monty 6 into polycotton and we have ruled out the Monty Lake as want something different.

We had to go all the way to Derbyshire to see a good selection Tent displays Bought ours there though so the trip wasn't wasted

I think there is a company called Yeomans that have displays all over the country of lots of different brands.I know they are doing one at Ripley fairly soon from memory as I fancy a trip there too.i've not been to one though but maybe someoneon here has and could recommend it?

Theres a go outdoors in wakie with a field full of tents. Am banned from going so cant say which ones theyve got but might be worth phoning ahead as they normally have quite alot on display.

Cheers - have been to the Ripley (Yorks) display before and it is good but am impatient and don't want to wait that long!
The GO in Wakie only has a BL6 and Monty Lake as I have tried them. May have to go the Yeomans Calver display in a couple of weeks when it opens. I will try and find out what they are displaying and post back here if they do have any of the new ranges.

Saw the new Outwell 'Reef' tents yesterday at the Yeomans show in Somerset. Very nice! We were very taken with the Hawaii Reef. It's a bit bigger than we'd consider normally (there's only two of us), but the huge built-in, zippable porch and 60/40 split bedrooms are making it very tempting! Doesn't look so blindingly-bright in the 'flesh' either!

Have you tried the go outdoors in pudsey or springfiled camping in halifax ?? give them both a ring first to check !

Ooh I went to Halifax to buy a tent once cos it had my top choice on display but can't remember what it was called! Not much use really!!!

I have tried Go Outdoors and they only have the BL6 from my list. Will try Halifax, thanks for that.

The other option is Casey's in Chester, quite a trek but have to cross the Pennines next week so may make a day of it!

Hi,

Yeomans have camping shows all around the country at different times, you can see a list of them here You might find one that you are willing to drive to on a date that suits.

We've got a very good Winfields in Hull. They usually have around 50 tents erected though whether they've got what you're after I don't know. Only about an hour from Leeds so might be worth a trip.

Hi Grumpysimon.
I was at Caseys last Wednesday, and they had the whole Cabanon Awaya range on display, the 370, 440 and 500, superb tents although expensive, seeing them also gives you an idea of the Biscaya range, as they are of quite a similiar design, which use the "All Season Polyester" canvas.

Caseys also had some very nice looking "PolyCotton" Robins tents which also looked the business.

Well worth a visit, and the Garden centre restaraunt there is well nice.

We were mostly looking at the FC's, which looked very nice, especialy the new Crusader and Quartz 6, even though they are using new "Acrylic" canvas, I would still have one, despite my preference for "Cotton".

Hi did you know there is a caseys camping in otley, pool road its inside stephen smiths garden centre its quite big too !

Thanks andy151 - yes I know Casey's in Otley, have spent a small fortune there but they don't seem to be doing Outwell this year?

I think it is Casey's in Chester for the Cabanons and then a Yeomans display for the Outwells.
