head to the door for us, in case the dogs decide to figure out the zip while we are sleeping. The hope is that having them trample over our heads would wake us before they got in to the main tent and ate everything!
We sleep head to the door for exactly the same reason but for the kids escaping as we never took the dog camping.
Used to make OH sleep in the living quaters by the external door to stop them escaping. Last year was the first time he got to slepp in a bedroom, this last trip the first time we have slept in the same room. Though he refduses to share my sleeping bag with all the tossing and turning I do in the night to get comfy.
The kids sleep due to the slope though and OH pitches so it will aid us sleeping head to door.

Head to the door when we had Vista and Amazon
As i was always worried a drunk would fall against the the tent splattering me, or while enjoying a lie in a someone booting a footy and my poor head getting it!
Now in TT side on but on the inside, DH sleeps on the outside so he can get splattered LOL

Having just got back from our first camp of the season, I can now report that we now also sleep feet to door (having been head to door last season).
It was this thread that spurred me into chucking the bedding in the opposite way around, and I think I prefer it that way now.

LOL we ended up sleeping at opposite ends - I slept feet to door - I just can't imagine sleeping the other way round. However we were on a slight slope and hubby's airbed is flat (mine has a raised pillow area) so he was uncomfortable sleeping that way on so he changed to head to door
I definately couldnt do that.... smellling my hubby's feet all night would keep me awake.... mind you his snoring does a pretty good job of that too
