yes ill be happ to recomend places for you
heights of abraham,,cable car rid in matlock bath ,once up there every thing is free ,like 2 caves to go in very long caves,amazing views of matlock bath,there is cafe's up there and think its very well priced.
allso is gulliver kindom if you have kids ,thats allso in matlock bath
carsington water is not far from ashbourne ,and is on the way to ashbourn to wirksworth ,great for a long walk with kids and dogs around the hole of carsington water,
ashbourne is a very nice little market town ,with some good stores sainsburys,to keep you fresh with food and drinks,
you have found the right place to stay very nice site and far enoght just out the way of things ,
there is allso tissington trail ,that you can get on from the back of the site ,great for bikes,which can be hired out from the start of it which is only a few miles to the left,you will feel like your walking down hill to the hire of the bike,lovly place to bike ride on ,im sure you want get to the end of it as it goes way beond buxton till you get to the end of it
or if you have a rainy day go down to the swimming baths at ashbourne ,nice size swimming pool

Wow thanks Moose!  Will look into the heights of Abraham, althouh OH is scared of heights so prob just me and the kids!
Sounds like a really nice place, can't wait to get away 
Let us know how the tent show is. We've got everything we need really, however, I still wander round these places looking desperately for something we 'need'

just like to tell you this is a great site for the kids aswell

we go up there ,and the kids love it in the woods ,very safe site ,with small playing area ,also very cheap,while your over this way its worth ,taking a look at this site as its only a few miles from matlock
yes ill post in here ,of my day out to the tent show,might even post you some pictures

this train runs down the back of my house and its only been open to the public a week ,you might be lucky to ride the steam train ,,
