I totally agree. I have a 6 Berth coleman just for me and my two little dogs, but hey if friends want to come then there is room, if not there is more room. I don't give a jot what other people think, its my holiday. I take everything I need, ehu, cooker, heater, even the dogs have their own bedding, hot water bottles and blankets, yep love it. You enjoy yourself, thats what it is all about,

We could all manage on the bare minimum if we wanted, and when I used to go camping, it was back to nature/bare essentials/ minimum tent etc..
My mind was changed when I visited my sister on a nearby campsite, she loves camping and is very much a 'glamper', but when we visited, it was such a relaxing time, huge tent for just 4 of them, tables/chairs/kitchen sink, we felt really relaxed, even when it was raining and we where all inside.. a home away from home, and the reality was it took barely any longer to pitch an 8 berth as it does an equivalent 4 berth, just an extra pole (or two to thread) and a few extra pegs..
I now have an 8 berth tent, go EHU, it takes no more then an hour of 'easy' effort to put up, and the EHU means we have an electric kettle/toaster/induction hob (£45 in total) which couldn't be more convenient if we tried.. simplicity itself..
I've had a million comments about how it's not proper camping, but I don't care, it's ten times less stress for me and the missus, and the kids benefit from not having a grumpy dad!!
Each to their own..
