So we are on our second trip of the season after the first being such a horrendous fail. Arrived here at deers glade about 2.15 everything dandy, tent went up beautifully. Got everything set up in record time, kids playing with new friends in the play area which we can see from our pitch.
About 6pm we were just about to start cooking dinner my eldest comes running over saying my youngest son has been hurt. Cue my husband dashing over, my youngest boy has cerebral palsy and as a result he crawls everywhere so anything at ground level is of great fascination to him, he'd only gone and got his poor little thumb jammed in another childs bike chain :( with some help from other people we managed to get it out but it was a v|ery funny shape and he was howling. Hubby took him to the local a&e, a grand 17 miles away :-o Thankfully he has just rung and all is ok, no break and it's gone back to a normal shape.
Whilst he's been gone the stupid tent door zip has gone again so I give up with that, I AM buying a new tent now! I have pinned it shut for tonight.
Maybe god is trying to tell us something.
------------- Me + Husband + Son 9yrs + daughter 5yrs + Son 4yrs + daughter 2yrs
48 nights booked for 2011, Starting 18th April woop!
Ok...glad your son is ok.....hope the night goes ok...at least it is not blowing a gale....
It is horrid when something happens to the kids but when it is not so serious it makes for a good story later...keep calm...drink some wine...and plan your new tent....and hope you enjoy the rest of your stay..
Oh bless you, hope everything is OK. We were away once when we realised the family next to us were rushing around trying to find a first aid kit. We were sipping our wine outside the tent wondering what was up - completely unaware that it was our son that had been injured!! He had cut his hand on some barbed wire and thankfully it turned out to be much less serious than it first appeared.
Gives you a shock though, especially when you are away from home.
Hope the rest of the trip goes according to plan and dont give up - you must have had all your bad luck in one go!
Sorry to hear about your little boy. I remember a little boy falling out of a tree right beside my tent and that sickening sound of an arm breaking, so thank your lucky stars that your wee lad hasn't done too much damage.
