Hi all, our Coleman Bi-space 500 is currently up at a friend's house for them to try out. We don't use it any more as it is too small for our family but I would like to keep it so as it up and it is a beautiful day and it has not been up for 6 years should I get some kind of waterproofing for it? Would this be a spray and would it be safe to use around young childen and pets? I would ask at the camping shop but I know they will just say yes whatever just to sell me some waterproofer....Thanks

Personally I wouldn't, if the fabric is still all intact and not flaking off at all, and it still repels water then I'd leave it well alone.

It's a lovely tent, I nearly bought one when a store was selling them off for £40 each and didn't but have kicked myself ever since!

Great thanks - all seems to be in great nic still. Maybe we should turn the house on it to check?

It is a lovely tent, was fab for us as a couple (I like my space) but now we have two kids we bought a second hand Vango Aspen 700 which I love when it is up but it is a total pain to get up.....especially as you have to put the inside up first which was terrible last time as it was raining......

I'm a bit new at this tenting lark so to be on the safe side I reproofed our Sunncamp with Fabsil a few days ago. The tent was a cheap purchase off ebay is 10 years old so it seemed the right thing to do in our circumstances.

The Sunncamp Gite is a canvas tent and the Bi-Space is poly so they are a different kettle of fish although I would have the same view of reproofing canvas, if it aint broke, leave it alone!

Hey Twinkly,

Sorry to crash into your thread but I notice you have the same tent as us, how long does it take you to put up? We find it a complete **beeeeeep** to get up, especially the ring and pin we seem to really struggle. The first time we tried to pitch it we almost ended up getting divorced.
