I am 98% in a wheelchair because of an accident at school at 14yrs old. I am now 67 yrs old and never missed a year since 1946 first one at 18 months old.The   tents back then were no good for me. So first a t.t then  a motor camper a small VW pulling a camplet but realised I could not get out of bed without help as I cannot pull myself   up on the tent sides. So back to an old caravan. I am going to go to my grave with my camping boots on (so to speak) if you both pull together as we have had to you can do anything within reason. A lot more nowadys than yesteryear.

. I managed to get a camping bed that took my what I thought was 27 stone. Then recently there are some pictures on the site of inside tents which have these high pump up beds inside. Have a look at the pictures  thread on tents maybe you'll see what I mean by higher. You cannot go low as you'll suffer more and possibly hold onto  your pee more than you should because it will be hard to get up for you. Be warned you need a high bed not a lower one. Try to match the one at home.That is where these pump up ones come into their own.

Best wishes and carry on, do not give in to it or you will only mope at home, better to mope away than in your own 4 walls.Those beds are as long as a standard  bed I believe.

I am going to look for a higher bed and a more supportive chair. I love the monty, so to make things easier for me I will sleep in the living area in order for me to have more room to manouvre. My lumbar spine does not feel stable at the moment so even though I am sad about missing out this season, I really dont want to risk further injury until it improves. I have an xray appt in two weeks.Fingers crossed for nad.

I am aiming to use our weekend tent and to sleep in the garden in the near future for a couple of nights with one of my children just to experience sleeping outdoors bliss.

I so appreciate everyones suggestions and am looking into all items reccommended.
