hmmm.. i felt i couldnt complain at a site last year when an elderly couple staying in a caravan next to us had their tv on really loud.. obviously hard of hearing, it really was turned up full volume... and then teh woman started SHOUTING at the old chap!! she was having a right old moan.. but very , very loudly!! wasnt too bad as they went to bed by 10pm, so didnt keep us up! BUT when the elderly gent decided that 5am was a good time to catch the weather and news and whatever else is on at that time of the morning, woke us all up! funniest thing was the dirty looks i got from the old bird when my 2 yr old fell over and was screaming (for all of 5 minutes!!) what ARE you supposed to do in that situation.. i dont want to be accused of agism.. or discriminating against the hard of hearing..but 5am???
I'd have told em to shut it! Age and deafness is no excuse for ignorance Tina - and at 5am its a noise offence anywhere with no excuses. They cant be so stupid as to know that when the telly volume is full it wont travel outwith their unit and if they are so deaf then surely they'd be entitled to hearing aids. Antisocial doesnt mean young. The majority of antisocial behaviour i've witnessed has come from people around my age and a lot older.
I blame the Media to an extent on why camping is getting more than its share of anti-social elements. You get newspapers offering 95p a night pitches to anyone who wants them, shops selling terrible tents at ridiculous prices and my pet hate - Bank Holiday weekends. I gave up camping on Bank Holiday weekends because over the years, the sites that I visit tend to attract the most moronic element of people ever. They turn up en mass, commandeer a section of the field and then turn it into commanche territory. The type of camper that buys a cheapo tent from Netto or the ebay tents that no-one on here would dream of buying, then think its fine to turn up, pitch and party hard all weekend. The general attitude is "Im on my holidays i can behave how I like", well no actually they cannot behave how they like and its time that campsite owners clamped down on the moron elements and they might find takings go up and incidents go down as they'll attract the right kind of camper. Obviously putting on the booking forms/rules that noise wont be tolerated just isnt cutting it. They need to actively patrol the sites on bank holiday weekends - lets face it they charge more for these weekends, so they could use some of the profit on upgrading the security over the weekends. The way I see it is that everyone NEEDS a holiday of some kind, but NOT everyone DESERVES a holiday. Its all about respect and consideration for others, unfortunately we live in a society right now that has absolutely NO respect for each other. These are very greedy times we live in.

I was actually quite shocked when we arrived at one of our favourite sites last year and noticed a guy walking around in a security uniform, I presumed he had finished work for the weekend as he was pitched in a van on one of seasonal pitches, however when I saw him the next day in the same uniform, I said hi and asked if he was "working", he replied that he was and I straight away asked him "why, what happened". he just explained that it was the time that we live in and unfortunately some people can't abide by site rules and that he was employed as a deterrent, luckily, apart from a few squabbles with kids, there wasn't any "need" for him to enforce his authority....
I think as they say, in this case, that prevention is better than cure and as long as people realise that if they break site rules then they will be asked to leave, it will sort of deter this kind of behaviour..... Hopefully!

We were at Blue Dolphin on the week upto good friday. All was genrally good but we did have some muppets behind us that insisted on having a domestic at 12.30 in the morning. Now, this was our first camping trip and getting warm and comfortable was hard enough, so when my wife and I finally got to sleep, you can imagine our annoyance at being woke up by somebody shouting 'I was'nt cheating, Im not a cheat', no you're just a noisy ignorant T***!
Anyway, we went home the day after, so we had a cracking nights kip when we got home.
