Fleecy airbed cover, 3 seasons bag, fleecy liner inside the bag, thermals and probably a thin fleece over the thermals too. Thats all year round for me really (although I have been known to ditch the fleece once or twice).

Yes I know I am a wuss but never underestimate how cold it gets in this country on a night. I have known days in summer when it has been red hot during the day but during the night its been really chilly. And remember that you are basically sleeping outdoors - a tent will give you a certain amount of protection from the cold but not much.

So to answer your question - no, definitely not!

Thank you for the input guys.

The bags in question were for my kids.

I was looking at these:

http://www.outwell.com/en/Products/Kids/OutwellKids/DINOEXPLORERSleepingbag.aspx

http://www.outwell.com/en/Products/Kids/OutwellKids/FLOWIESRoseSleepingbag.aspx

They are only 2 season though and although they look great for the kids, I was more concerned about the practicalities.

In the end, after taking into account what was said on here, I chose these:

http://www.spraywaycamping.com/products.php?cat1=sleepingbags&product=6

Right choice or was I being mean not getting the fancy one for the kids?

I've got a three season bag (apparently) but I was freezing last week in West Sussex. And so was the overnight temperature, given the frost in the mornings! This was with fleecy blankets over and under us, and extra quilted throws too. To be fair I was the only cold one, but I spent most of the night making sure my 3yr old didn't wriggle out of her covers.

I was thinking about getting a Gelert Beyond pod, there are some on eBay. And some thermal undies. And some Sealskinz socks. And possibly a balaclava.

Arrived today and I have to say, for £25.99, they are possibly the most specced junior sleeping bag you can have for the money.

Most of the junior ones are only 2 season for the same price so to get a 3 season for a few quid more is money well spend I think.

I have never had a Sprayway product but the bag is top notch.

We ordered the Sprayaway CHallenger 350 Junior.

I ordered from Ibexcamping.co.uk who I have to say have been very helpfull. They even upgraded my postage for free to ensure I got the item on time.
