We bought ours in store, but other people have bought handed versions online. I've just done a dummy run of buying online and couldn't even see a special delivery notes box to enter any comments in, so I am not sure how they did it. You have a number of the stores around you: Wokingham, Bagshot and Farnborough. You could collect (checking stock before going). You could also try ringing them again just to see if you get a different answer from a different member of their sales team.
If you subscribe to their loyalty card, you also get money back on your first purchase.

Yes, mine and my husband's bags are generally zipped together to make a double (only the feet sections are then separate)
