Hi Folks!!! I'm baaaaaaack!!!
Just wanted to update all you Fabsil sniffing peeps out there on the waterproofing capabilities of Fabsil!!!
As you all probably know.....I started this debate a wee while back with, 'To re-proof or not to re-proof!!!' Well, I'm so glad that I did re-proof!
We returned from camping in Cornwall last week. I have never seen rain like it in my life!! The first few days(End of June) were changeable with coastal high winds and rain. We even had hailstones!!! Anyway, after the first proper downpour the tent had since the reproof, the water repelled brilliantly off the fabric and we stayed dry for the whole of the 10 days!! We did only have odd weather for the first 3 days, the rest was gorgeous!! Perfect camping weather, infact the temperature gauge in the tent one day read 31deg!!! Phew, it was hot.
What I would like to point out, is that I know there are a few out there that said I didn't need to do it as it's a young tent, but, in doing it, I now know what it will withstand and keep checks on it's degradation over the next few years. I did however tent to my seams whilst I was there, as some of the tape had started to unpeel, all is fixed and I am now a happy camper!
I would happily do it again next year knowing that I would have a worry free holiday.....and to have another go at sniffing the Fabsil of course!!! :o)
Thanks to all who contributed to the post!!
Wendy
