Thank you for all the tent advice, I think will go for the Vango Icarus 500/600,    trawling e bay  and ads on here too.

Next question!!  We need ,mattress recomendations, due to old back injuries this is really important.  I run the risk of waking up and not being able to move!!!!

Next dumb question,,  how do SIM's work. Do you need to plug them in? 

We will definatly have electric hook up as can't cope without a heater!!

Everything esle is very much on a budget, but am not willing to skimp on a mattress as being in pain is not worth it.

Tescos have double height airbeds which have a pump built in - they're fab, me and hubby have got one each (we prefer 2 singles to a double when camping)

I went and bought the 2nd one yesterday expecting to pay £35 but when I got to the checkout it was only £23.33!

They do double ones too for £45, I don't know if they're reduced too at the mo

I always recommend the Coleman Comfort air beds. The double has 2 sides which inflate independently of each other. You can have it inflated as hard as you like, and you do not bounce about like other double mattresses when your partner moves in the night. They are not double height though.

I find it as comfortable as my mattress at home, and I also suffer from a bad back and neck. We use an electric pump to inflate it.
