I was out every day checking them and trying to get the guys as tight as I could get them, will remember they dont need to be quite as tight next time, I bought 20 delta pegs and used 2 last time before deciding I didnt like them, ive since realised I was using them the wrong way round lol will give them another go next time we camp!

Im with the majority here. All pegging points pegged securely and guylines pegged in and tensioned - they are there for a reason.

LOL I have seen numerous people come back to see their tent destroyed, they then complain that the tent was rubbish, when infact it was due to inefficent pegging and guy line running.
Make sure the guys are round the correct way and that they are taught (not over tight though), always use all guy ropes and peggs, its down to lazyness really and once again a personal choice. But dont whinge when your tent is destroyed when you go out for the day and come back when the wether has "changed" as you have not put all the lines it.
Also should be a daily thing.. check the ropes and pegs in the morning with a cup of tea its my daily routine.

I always found with my last tent that wasn't a good thing when it was wet, it shrunk as it dried so I'd come back and find the guys much tighter than I could manage by hand and the seams of the tent were straining.

I use all the guy ropes, as well as additional storm guys on windy days.
Putting up the tent takes about 15min, whereas pegging out all the guys, including the additional storm guys, the ones for the canopy poles, and those for the windbreak, would take me about 2 hours!
However, at the end of that, I feel very secure in my tent knowing I have done a really good job in securing it.

Yes use them all the time and deffinitley keep them taught. I ended up running round outside our tent in the pooring rain in the middle of the night when i forgot and a storm arrived - not going to be repeating that in a hurry!
