I have created a spreadsheet for calculating safe loads on campsite electric hookups and thought I would share it with everyone.

Its simple to use simply enter the campsite supply ratings in the top left section and then fill in the electric device ratings in the table below. You only need two of the ratings from Watts / Volts / Amps for the spreadsheet to work.

Once you have entered all of the info you can set up senarios of which devices you want to use and see if the campsite supply can take the load without tripping out.

To do this enter an x in the On/Off collum and the spreadsheet will do the calculations.

You will need Excel version 2003 or later for this to work, I have not tried it on earlier versions.

Still not working. Right click and copy the link in the address bar from your website. Then open a reply page here. Type in the word 'link' then highlight it. Click on the 'add hyperlink' icon above the reply page (that's the one that looks like a globe with binoculars) and in the window that opens paste your link making sure that there is only one http:// at the head of it, then click 'ok'. Then send the reply page after which when you click on 'link', which will now show up underlined and in red, it should take you to your webpage

I can confirm the link is working in the first post.

Dont click on the view document link that wont work, you need to download the file and open it in excel. If you get a macro error ignore it and press ok.

Hope someone finds it useful

Surely you don't need a spreadsheet to add up the loadings?

Its not really a lot to go through, all you do is enter the details of a device in the left hand column and turn it on or off on the right.

Personally I can figure it all out in my head but for people like my other half with no concept of watts / amps etc... then its a useful tool to stop them annoying the whole campsite by tripping the power :D

Shes the sort to boil a kettle whilst drying her hair and running the heating full blast drawing 12 amps and 2900w !!

I thought it was handy for working out the amps or the watts of a device when you dont know them.

On another note, I see part of the spreadsheet which is supposed to show a traffic light style warning symbol next to high amp devices does not work on older versions of excel and just shows the same as the column next to it so I may have to remove that.
