After years of having bits and pieces in different boxes we've just bought one of these:

I'm hoping we'll get all our crockery, cutlery and other kitchen bits and pieces in it and that it will stand up in the trailer, just liked the idea of being able to lift it straight out of the trailer into the tent!
I have a miniature model of that with four drawers in it which I use one draw for cutlery, one for cooking utensils, one for washing up liquid, teatowel and scrubber, I think the fourth one has spare batteries, plasters, tablets etc in it.
Then I have a large plastic lidded box which contains crockery, pans etc

Poundstrechers have a large car boot organiser which has 3 separate compartments, lots of net pockets on outside and it collapses flat when not in use. Its also strong enough that when not in use I put a bit of board over the top and it makes a table.

I keep all the loose bits and pieces in a large storage box too. It has a clip on lid which the mices and creepy crawlies can't get into so I keep it in the shed then I know everything is together in one box. Can be a bit of a nuisance sorting through it for a teaspoon or something I camp solo but still use the whole of the back of my car with the seats down. I often wonder how families get on and where they put the kids.
Same here, 2 storage boxes with lids. One has tent spares, lights etc. The other kitchen stuff, plates, cutlery. Plus a square lidded box for food stuff.
I solo camp and the back seats are down on the car. Every thing fits in like a jigsaw puzzle. No room for passengers.
Even the front foot well is used for the Cool Box and walking boots.

I have a 30L plastic box (from B&M about £5) that houses my plates (in a plastic drawstring bag), cutlery (in a plastic cutlery box), mallet, lanterns, solar lights, fresh water pipe, dustpan and brush, bin bags, fairy liquid, airbed, you name it, it's in there! We have things that go in as they are or that are in their original box like the cookers, toilet, etc. We have a 'footprint' groundsheet that's in a perfect fit plastic bag. That is actually thick pondliner we got for free as fiancé's Dad owns a garden decoration type business - keeps bottom of tent clean! Everything fits more or less ok in the car after a bit of jiggling, I've got my new cupboard to put things when I get there....although I've got to get them in the car too now! I take things in collapsable boxes to transport things (mainly food) then put them on the shelves on my camping kitchen. So if you see a ladybird car travelling to Norfolk next month full of stuff - that's me! :D Sorry if this is garbled, I'm typing on phone!

This gave me another good idea: Maybe I could use the airbed pump to deflate the kids for the time in the car?

You could get a few ideas from the film, 'Honey I shrunk the kids'
