Is it that much of a big deal having to switch off the electric fan heater in order to boil the kettle to make a cup of tea?
How about boiling the kettle of a gas stove instead? This way, the fan heater can stay on, problem solved.
IMHO, an electric fan heater is the most effective way of heating a tent.
I picked up my ceramic fan heater from either Lidl's or Aldi's last year. It is small and compact, two fan speeds, two output (1kW or 2kW) with variable heat settings, anti-tilt, thermostatic control, and can be used as a fan on hot days. It cost less than 20 GBP and thought it was a bargain, hence I bought one.
I also have another more expensive fan heater, with fancy lighting and digital readout etc... However, it is bigger and I find the light a bit distracting when I try to sleep.
