We have just returned from a camping trip in an extremely wet and windy Weymouth.  Being relatively new to camping it was quite hair raising being in a tent with winds gusting at between 38 mph and 50 mph according to the met office.  We were unsure what our tent could cope with, but our tent survived with no damage at all.  Not sure it is an experience I would like to repeat though!  Good luck to anyone about to go on a camping trip in this wet and windy weather.

Now you are campers and welcome to the club. It's a true saying" you only get what you pay for" . Experience is what make you a better camper. Next time if you are camping and the wind picks up ,you won't be worried about your tent........and enjoy it..........

We were at Littlesea facing onto the Fleet Lagoon.  I agree you definately get what you pay for.  The Wardens informed us that they had lost several tents during the night which had been completely destroyed.  Looking forward to our next camping trip and hoping for calmer weather

We've just got back, adn had quiet a bit of wind - even when it wasn't raining, a few days it was too windy to sit out.  Only good thing was it got the towels and swimmong costumes dry - which was handy as Alice sometimes went to the pool twice a day.

One night he wind was really bad, you could feel our camper rocking, and it's not exactly lightweight.   It and ancient American thing circa 1980.
