So glad you enjoyed Teesdale Anne, hope you got to see High Force, that is a lovely site, its great to hear the mighty Tees on your doorstep.

Wonder if you managed a trip to Barney as well, I was most impressed my hometown remains unspoilt and am definitely returning when I can.

Love your tent with the purple theme and all your hearts etc its a very nice set up.I am beginning to think I'd like an Izzy now that the Rosas are out this year.

Ibiza lol age in my head 27 too its a v good age I think

The ground seemed to drain really well (it rained most days and nights we were there...) it's softish soil, I don't remember any stoney/rocky bits when we hammered in the 50 odd pegs(a mixture, we use wooden pegs for the main guys and plastic pegs mostly around the sides, we have rock pegs but did not feel the need to use them in the ground) We loved the site, and got around the no shower problem by pulling back the groundsheet inside the Izzy and standing in the trug for a shower.
Quote: Originally posted by dianebb72 on 23/6/2011Hi Anne, lovely pics of tent and campsite, just wanted to say that we same problem with the bum of our Eldorado. We sorted it out by putting the first section of a king pole at each corner and had short sticks on the guyrope. Lifted the back wall up enough to make a difference
ahh, that would help thanks, when we first put it up at the festy, we guyed the back to some Hertas fencing, quite high up, and it looked fine, we could not work out why it was baggy this time on level ground!
Quote: Originally posted by cathyh on 23/6/2011Anne - did you try tweaking the centre pole to improve the bagginess? If it is off vertical it can affect the 'bum line' (although I'm sure you did try this)
We did after the first few days, in fact we undid all the guys and pegs and straightened everything out, which helped, but with Dianne's suggestion as well we should have it cracked next time? its quite hard to get it vertical when there is no point of reference inside the tent, so I downloaded a spirit level app on my phone when we came home! Hopefully we will sort it when we put it up at Nantcol? you can all drag your chairs over ,crack a bottle of wine and watch our efforts
The hearts are really simple to make, they take minutes, I sewed three wooden toggles along the ridge each side of the door wall to hang things from, all the chair throws go on the bed each night, and the cushions are used as pillows, so the only extra glamping packing is the fairy lights and hearts, I will bring my sewing bag to Nantcol and we can all have a "Glamping workshop"?

Thanks for posting your pics on here Anne - I love seeing the Izmir, with her purple trim.

In fact it was seeing an izmir posted on here a while back that got me lusting after having a pyramid. Since the izmirs are few and far between I think I've settled on getting an eldorado when they come in stock at obelink. I'm getting it on the premise it's for my dad, but I'll be getting my mitts on it, to see if I like it, then I'll look at the bigger ones like the Palamos 6 from there.

Any idea when the izmirs were made or rather how old are they, because your's looks smashing, yet I know they are an older tent, just not how old....

Cracking site too.

I think they were made in the early 90s. Annes is in lovely condition - mine is a lot more faded! Also, looking at Anne's pics, the poles are different. Mine are pale grey but Anne's look darker

If you're looking for an older pyramid, love-camping, you could do a lot worse than something like this;

http://teesside.easyads123.co.uk/buying--selling/camping-equipment/tent-cabanon-pyramide-4000-4-5677585.html

I got mine a couple of years ago in excellent condition and nothing would make me part with it.

The pics look fab!  I love the changes you've made - we're pretty much set on not using the inners, but they do look good there.

We're off tomorrow morning for a week in SW France and are waiting to hear if our Izmir will be coming with us (zip repair).  I'm not relishing the thought of 30 degrees under polyester, but we may be... If not will post pics on our return.
