I have to admit, we've been investigating options around this matter over the last week as we were in France. We ended up using an old lidded nappy bucket, with a toddlers training seat on top. It definitely served the purpose but was a bit difficult to negotiate after a couple of drinks 
I think we'll still use that option, if only because we can't fit a KK in our car with the rest of the stuff. But I'm going to try and adapt a camping stool (no pun intended) so that adults can use it comfortably.
