Just like to share my Go experience with you guys. Many people on here sl*g them off but to their credit theyve just sorted me. Bought a Bear lake 6 last september, used 3 times and noticed a litle rip on front pole sleeve. You get a 12 month gaurantee from go with all tents so took it back 5th june. I told them i needed it for this weekend.Went up to Go Out(Wigan) on monday and apparently my bl6 had failed a HH test and was being destroyed. One little rip and they say they have to cut it up. No quibbles from me though as they replaced it with a brand new 2011 model. Brand new 12 month gaurantee and i asked the manager if i could have a spare pole off my old tent just in case,no problem he said and sorted it.The manager was really helpful and very knowledgeable going into detail on everything i asked. Just wandering has anyone else had an Outwell tent thats leaked inside 12 months useage. Am i just really unlucky,or lucky that i returned it for a rip and they sussed it was a defected tent.

They are ok, no different that any other large retail outlet, which are normally let down by individuals and not the company, I normally find their (go ) returns policy is great. Normally any rip on a seam or stress point is fatal....

It was onlt about one inch long from where the pole goes in and stopped where it was folded and double stiched. I was worried i woulnt get it back in time for Grizedale this weekend so i considered stiching it myself. You say fatal , yes. Sooo happy i returned it now....Theyre selling this tent for £949,and are just goin to cut it up..one inch rip man, they must make a fortune just to write it off....

You don't think they may claim it back from Outwell?

Yes, 5% of the cost according to the manager. Theyve had 12 returned so far this year(Wigan).

you said it failed it's HH test so it wasn't just a rip was it? and I presume failing a HH test means it would leak?? a pretty major fault I'd say.

They could sell the canvas to people who want to make some clip on sides for the front canopy!

I'm a bit worried now - mine's never really been tested by a lot of rain and we're 10 months in....

uuummm maybe they've had a faulty batch and tested in case this was one??

But you struck lucky as if it failed it's HH test and you'd gone camping in the current weather you not be best pleased would you??

Surley they should let people know if theres a faulty batch, there selling tents on thier good name and if people are spending so much coin they expect top gear.

I didn't think hydrostatic head was a relevant measure for polycotton tents ?

Not surprised it's been destroyed if replaced under warranty. Warranty Fraud is a big problem in all kinds of industries.

Things like that have a habit of being sold "for spares" then a week later being replaced under warranty again a week later.

You should see some of the scams with high end IT hardware!

I think that Go get sl*gged off more for their crazy pricing policy and unrealistic RRP on their own brand products rather than after sales on brand name products

Well when my son tried to return a tent with an obvious fault (not a leak) they wanted to 'test' it too and keep it for 2 weeks  - we live quite a drive away.

On the other hand, Yeomans swapped our BL4 withount any hassle or testing on the same day.

I know where I'm shopping in future.
