My 2009 Outwell Hartford L has suffered some stress on one of the pole sections following a battering by the wind in the Lakes. The result being that the pole no longer curves but dog legs at the week point. I want to replace the pole section. The 'spare' that came with the tent is too short and has a ferrule fitted. My stressed section does not have a ferrule, it is 72cm long and 12mm diameter. I took it to Go Outdoors at Ancoats Manchester but they couldnt help. I was directed to Go Outdoors at Cheadle. They were less than helpful suggesting that I contact Outwell who will probably refer me to them!!

Anyone got any ideas?

Most camping stores sell replacement poles ,they can be cut to size and re threaded ( you can sometimes use the same elastic if its in good nick )
You will need a pole and a threader and maybe more elastic ,usually a good idea to keep these in your tent repair kit too along with ducktape ( temp repairs of split poles )

Hi and welcome

Are you sure it doesnt have a ferrule fitted as if it joins to another pole section there should be a ferrule to join it. Also is it 12mm ? the outwell poles are normally 12.7mm 11mm or 9.5mm
An Outwell dealer should be able to order you a genuine pole or you can use this

12.7mm tent pole

And cut it to length

Thanks for the replies, my section is the only one of the 7 sections that make up the pole that does not require a ferrule because the section before and the one after have ferrules fitted.

I've put my specs on and reckon the diameter is more likely to be 11mm, however the length is definately 72cm which is longer than all the advertised replacement pole sections on the web sites that I have looked at.
