Hi everyone, time to put my lurking days behind me and introduce myself.

I have been an avid camper on and off pretty much all my life.  Summer holidays when I was a kid were always camping trips mainly to the South of France and whilst I did sometimes yearn for a 'package' type holiday my mates always talked about I enjoyed every minute of it and have some priceless memories.

My wife, whilst she does enjoy camping does not (yet) quite share the passion I have but I am hoping carpets, camping Khazi etc etc will bring her round .

Anyway have decided to introduce my kids (5 year old twin boys) to the pleasures of camping and heading off next weekend, wish me luck!

Hi Simon, We are fairly new to camping, only started last year. My wife too wasn't too sure, but because we have elec. and she can take her hair dryer ! see is total hooked and we all can't wait for our next outing. Our kids love it and have really taken to it. We are having our first camping holiday this year.

Were are you off to ? we are off next weekend and fingers crossed for the weather.

I am sure your boys will love it........ and as mentioned by others EHU makes its much easier on those that are not quite as convinced and is good for us ladies that like our hairdryers and straighteners.

Heading off to Burton Constable, not far from where we live so not too challenging for our first weekend under the stars.
