We have just returned from our first very wet trip away this year from Wavecrest Caravan and Camping Site in Caherdaniel on the ring of Kerry (review done).Thought you might like a couple of photos.

O'Connors Beach Bar as boasted by them to be the only one in Ireland, great food nice people,and just new renovated, excellent beach, very safe for kids.

Looks great! I'm going to County Kerry next weekend but I'm staying at Mannix Point. Where is that beach bar in relation to Caherciveen?

Do you think Killarney National Park would be any good for two teenagers? I'm thinking of taking the kids to nearby Muckross House.

Wavecrest was a beautiful campsite, such a shame that the owners were not so, I have done a review but dont think it is up yet.

In answer to your question Victoria, O'connors beach bar would be about 18 miles from  Caherciveen, really worth a visit, there is a small campsite there, right on the beach called Glenbeg, very basic, first come served basis, well maintained also. We have 4 kids, 2 of them teenagers and they loved walking around Killarney park, there is a castle ruin in the park, we had a couple of hours peace while they rambled around it. Mannix point looks like a beautiful site looks over Valentia Island, I hope you get better weather than we did, enjoy your stay.

I'm worried about the weather. I'd initially wanted to book Eagle Point near Bantry in Cork but it was one of the dearest Campsites in Ireland plus I couldn't have taken my dog there. Cork sometimes has near continental weather conditions but Kerry is only a wee bit up the coast. I'm keeping fingers crossed for some sun!

Looks wonderful. never thought about camping in Eire, but now may have to arrange a trip next year.
