Hello,I love this site, it helped us choose our Tigris two years ago; we had a couple of trips away in '09 but then were unable to camp at all last year
However I have been lurking long-time and planning our trips this year, and finally got away for 6 nights in Norfolk last weekend. Great site(must do review), great weather, and great time altogether which just reinforces our enthusiasm for camping. Can't wait to go again!!!I know you'll all understand!
So I just wanted to 'delurk' and say hello
I also have a query.
I was wondering what you all do to avoid sliding down the tent in bed if on a slight slope? It's not always possible to get a flat pitch. We were doing impressions of caterpillars in our sleeping bags trying to shuffle back up onto the airbed. It's just Mr Peg and me, so no handy littl'uns to bolster us in place
So I bought 2 large cushions from a DIY store and used these under the airbed at the lower end; this worked quite well
Does anyone else have this problem and if so what do you do?

First off Hi and you are now "Delurked As for sleeping on a slope, can't help you really. Find a flat site I guess. Not much help am I but I don't really see there is anything you can do. I am curious though. Where in Norfolk did you find somewhere with a slope

We have been known to put an infatable pillow under the airbed (find then too uncomfortable to sleep on - prefer real pillows) to help level out the bed when on a slope. Ours were just cheap ones from Tesco but they do the job!

Best way is to use a carp fishing bed chair, six or eight leg version if funds allow. All the legs can be adjusted so the bed is level.

Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

Quite right raf48 apart from the minor detail that for the price of a TF Gear bed chair you could have several nights in a 4 star hotel which would probably have a level bed They are good though. I wish I could afford one and the trailer needed to carry it around in

How about a non slip mat between the airbed and sleeping bag, that should hold you in place. Non slip mats

Thank you for your suggestions!
rochford: OH has already suggested velco-ing me in place until he realised he would have to get up first and make the tea!
raf and 9iron: love the fishing bed chairs, just need to win the lottery! bet they are good for a bad back tho, and warmer as not sleeping on floor.
HEJC72: This is our solution too, I think, as we can squash the pillows in the car somehow during the game of 'Packing Tetris'.
Oh, and LOL at the thought of Norfolk's perilous slopes! We were in the north of the county near the coast and isn't it pretty! There are a few contours but when we got home the Chilterns looked like the Alps!
