Hi all,

I've been a lurker for a while and got some great advice from you all so we've finally took the plunge and booked our first camping trip for next weekend - can't wait!!

We haven't told the kids so we can surprise them but so excited I keep nearly telling them.

Anyway just wanted to say 'hello'

hello newbies!!!

you will love camping i am sure - and the kids will certainly love it! i camped as a kid and now I take my own - we are on count down for our first tenting trip this year and we are all hyper about it!

Thank you all for the lovely messages!

We had a fantastic time and are now hooked. The kids loved it and it was so good to see them out in the fresh air and making friends within minutes of arriving. We had the best and worst of the weather with downpours on the Saturday morning but then glorious sunshine in the afternoon. I always thought the rain would put me off but it didn't and the sound of the 'pitter patter' on the tent is lovely to wake up to!!

We're already planning to go away again in the next couple of weeks and the kids want to know why we can't just live in a tent all the time
