I'm one of those strange people who will not drink instant.

Camping I take 2 coffee makers the stove top esspreso and the Insulated cafetiere plus loads of ground coffee

Have to admit to not reading whole thread but until May we did instant coffee while camping however 'new' campers joined us in May to be introduced to the whole experience and turned up with a plastic cafetiere from Tesco I believe and duly left it for us as a wee thank-you for the weekend.

Just returned from fortnight in Wales and had fresh coffee every morning and wouldn't go back!

So, Tesco for the plastic cafetiere and I think I've seen it for £10 in there. HTH

I would NEVER take instant coffee with me. That first cup of freshly brewed coffee every morning is one of life's treasures.

As avid campers this is the one of the many luxuries we allow ourselves. A nice cup of cafetiere coffee is the perfect way to end a meal. We even go to the length of bringing with us small china espresso cups to keep the ambience real. We've had some funny looks when we emerge from our tent with our empty cafetiere and 2 small cups and saucers! But we think its really jealousy!! On a serious note pack the breakable items well and a proper cup of coffee is not beyond your reach. We use a small bodum cafetiere which was on sale in Tescos previously and would never be without it now.
