We have the 2011 Icarus too, and have had the same problem. I have actually spoken to Vango in Glasgow, they have advised that this is NOT a fauly with the tent, you will notice ALL seams except the ones you mentioned are heat seam sealed. It is apparently not possible to heat seal the the poly ground sheet onto the fly sheet.
After the tent getting soaked and drying out I have been advised that the stitching will contract back to make a tighter seal..........I'm not convinced myself so I am going for the storm seal (the vango guy did say this is thr only way to make 100% seal).
To be honest I have owned numerous tents over the years and all tents will leak somewhere especially in the torrential rain / flooding we were caught in last week
