We were booked at Padstow Touring Park for 12 nights, due back home in Essex on Friday evening. Due to the horrendous winds Saturday/Sunday and after 2 sleepless nights we decided to pack up early and head home, It wasn't an easy decision but I just felt too uncomfortable with our huge Outwell Ohio XL flapping in the wind and I felt I didn't want to leave the tent. Such a shame as the campsite was great for us - peaceful and in a really good location. Coupled with the fact we had to cancel our Spring Break trip as my Dad took seriously ill. He passed away during that week and I'm so glad we were at home to be there with him and for my Mum.
Seems like summer has passed us by. Here's hoping a planned trip in September fairs better.
Gosh, you've been unlucky with the weather...Its always sad when you lose someone and I'm sure you had been looking forward to a good break..Fingers crossed for next time, maybe you'll manage a sneaky little trip when the weather picks up x

So sorry to hear about your Dad Glamper Puss - you must be so glad that you were with him at the end.
Sounds like you really needed this break in Cornwall & it's a shame you had to come home early but I hope that your holiday in Sept is more successful.
Sorry to hear about your dad. We were in a simialr situation last year, when my brother and later my dad died. OK we missed our holidays but were there for them.
I am hoping to get away for a couple of nights next week, so fingers crossed for some reasonable weather
