Hi
Bear/bare (cant spell) with me as some of u may think this is a barmy question!!! We as a family are tent campers usually!! However we have a kid free weekend coming up and our usual outfit would be far to big for us as a couple!!!!
We cant afford a smaller tent sooooo have been thinking of alternatives!
We own a chrysler grand voyager with stow and go seats! does anyone think it would be a prob to put blow up bed in that and use as a van???? Also we have a gelert horizon 8 porch. Would this work as an awning for the kitchen area???
I really cant see any reason why not but we have no room at home to test before we venture out!!
Hope you dont think im bonkers and look forward to any pos/neg responses!

Sounds good to me, will be great fun. If you go for it take plenty of pics, you could start a new trend. Saying that we take our Vango Maritsa 700 just the 2 of us without the kids, love the space.

For a weekend test give it a go but I doubt it will be as comfortable as you think, poor ventilation and insulation leads to a lot of condensation and there's not a lot of room to move about.

Where are you planning to stay? Many places you will get moved on and campsites may not be happy about the idea.

I dunno,we use our utah 6 for two of us and the dog,sounds like a good idea but it will be cramped,if the weather is bad you're going to have no room at all...

Its amazing what we see in the Lane as we drive home from my Dads farm with those who use their cars for overnight 'camping' in the field entrances!

We once "camped" a whole BH weekend in the back of a Toyota Hilux Surf! On a proper single mattress though I might add. My OH whose as barmy as me made cardboard cut-outs and even painted them black to fit in all the windows! Bet we looked a right sight! We camped in the carpark of a leisure centre at a Blues Festival. We showered and changed in the leisure centre for a £1 or so and we had a right laugh. Not sure I would want to do it now though, as I much prefer glamping, but I would say go for it! Let us know how you got on!
