Hi all,

My oh has just bought a Berghaus Cullin, which I'm not allowed to use without him being there :(

I've got a camping trip planned with mates in 3 weeks and have a 4 man Lichfield Cherokee tent, its fine really, but now I've seen the Berghaus, I want windows!!

So my cunning plan is to add windows to my trusty lichfield...but am I being silly? Is this going to be doable, or should I just look for a new cheap and cheerful 4 man with windows (which my oh must never find out about if I buy....)?

My plan to add the windows will be to add one about 12"x12" to the poarch end, and one on each porch side, prob about 4"x10". In my head it would work if I put the tent up, glue the PVC in place with a strengthing fabric between the PVC and tent. Then take the tent down, sew it all in place, bung on some seam sealer, snip away the original tent, and bob's your uncle I have windows.

So to all you lovely people, is this sensible or should the plan remain in my head?

Thanks!
Suz

Mad!  Surely you'd get into more trouble for ruining your existing tent than getting another?

Don't know how cheap 'cheap and cheerful' needs to be, but I like

(£150)

but then again, I love all things Outwell!

Hi Suz and welcome.

I don't know the answer, but I think someone had suggested something similar not long ago as I'd like to put one in the front door of our Tigris 400, but don't have the courage to try.

Have you tried the "search" facility you might find something in there?

Good luck, I think you are very brave if you try it!

Jane

It is doable, but a lot of work, plus take into account the costs of your materials

I'm not sure what the original tent value is, is you are prepared to make it a bit 'sacrificial ', go for it!

Bear in mind the windows need to be take the same amount of strain as a standard complete poly wall
