Well even shopping for camping stuff is addictive. The OH didnt even want to look at clothes, bless her.

So we now have chairs, 2 for a £10, folding jobbies with a drink holder (very important), stove for a fiver, water carrier pound, mallet pound - rubber job with a bit of weight behind it (also useful as a toy for the dog), pots n pans 4 quid, new knives n forks 3 quid (not sure why we got these as already have some - but like a good soldier i didnt argue), first aid kit 2 quid, flip flops 5 quid for 3 pairs (bargain spotter OH got 2 pairs of Croc copies for price of 1), cylinder pump for air bed 5 quid, and loads of other stuff not on my list lol

Just gotta get some gas for the stove (b n q have run out), an air bed, and a table - although this list may be added to (less of the may - will be more like).

First ever trip is planned for next Friday whey heyyyyy

Careful , it sounds like you are both enjoying the shopping for camping experience far too much .

At some point one of you will have to be the sensible one - it's bad enough when one objects to all the purchases(they happen anyway), but both of you  - it's gonna get very ,very expensive !!!

Enjoy,enjoy,enjoy....

It gets worse, wait until you get to the stage where you look around non camping shops thinking about how you may be able to adapt normal everyday items for camping purposes.

Do not fool yourself that camping is the cheaper holiday to take. The spending is not limited to your 2 weeks holiday, it goes on all year round!!!

Sounds like me last year getting ready for my first trip

A word of warning about your water carrier though.  If it's of the collapsible variety I bought one last year and try as I might I could not get rid of the foul smell and taste it gave the water - rendered it undrinkable, though would be alright for washing up.

This year I've followed advice found on here and bought a 5 litre bottle of mineral water (on offer at £1 from Asda) with a handy carry handle around the neck. On our trip will use the contents then refil from tap then put in recycling at the end of our trip.

You could swap the water carrier for a pyramid toaster.

I must be the only one on this forum who LIKES her collapsible water carrier!! the water tastes fine and I have a box on wheels to get it to and from my pitch when we are on our long holiday. The box on wheels also carries the washing up trug too.

Oh well viva la difference
