This is awful, not only do our thoughts go out to the family but also to the camp site owners, Claire and Hugh, who are brilliant campsite owners.

Please, please be safe and aware of the dangers.

I can't believe this has happened again. Tragic. My thoughts are with her family.

I blame sewn-in groundsheets. I have been camping on and off for the best part of forty years and had never heard of anybody losing their life through fumes in a tent until relatively recently. Now, it doesn't even surprise or even shock me. Unfortunately, the trend to completely seal out the weather (whilst understandable to some extent considering what Britain's weather has become) also seals in whatever is in the tent. Either use electric with a hook-up, or don't have a SIG in the living area.

R.I.P.

Yep, all sewn in groundsheet's fault and nothing to do with bringing a BBQ into an enclosed space...

RIP

Any newbie campers, please read the news articles about deaths in tents and DO NOT take a BBQ into the tent, even with the doors open.

I think whether or not you have a sewn in groundsheet, you don't bring a barbeque into a tent, if of course that is what happened.

Thoughts to the family, campsite owners, and fellow campers on the site, all who will be effected by this tragedy in different ways. Let's hope this tragic loss of life, and the following headlines on the news websites, will make other  campers aware of the dangers of fumes within tents. Sad, sad, news.
