- Try to keep all equipment (except the tent and poles) inside the car until the tent has been pitched.
- Work quickly when pitching to avoid the rain pooling and potentially leaking water inside through vents / zips. If you can, join all the poles together first before the tent itself comes out of the car.
- Instigate no shoes rule in your tent to stop it becoming a slippery muddy quagmire.
- If it's still raining when the tent is up, maybe just bring in the cooker and get the kettle on. Then hopefully by the time you've finished your tea it will have stopped raining and you can do the rest.
I agree with everything morgz84 says. Oh and once the tents up try to get the car as close to it as possible and one person unpack the car (allocate this chore to OH!!).
Hope you have a great time whatever the weather brings

I actually go the opposite way when it comes to wet weather gear...
If it is raining lightly, I go for full waterproofs.
If it's properly bucketing down, I wear shorts and a t-shirt and let myself get wet (even with the best waterproofs, water will find a way down the neck / sleeves). I then get dry once the tent is up.
Take a flask of hot water so you can have a cuppa without having to put the kettle on. We're going to be in the same position later today so you have our sympathies!
Here's hoping there is a break in the rain for us.

Even better, get completely starkers and get the shower gel out. No shower queues in the morning

If nothing else it will give the neighbours a laugh
------------- Jewelsm - a fair weather camper
August 2013, 14, 15, 16 & 17-Trevornick for two and a half weeks of sea and surf (and ever optimistic -lots of sun). Some other weekends if I can persuade DH
I'm also apprehensive about a potential wet pitch in wales tomorrow.
If it is raining - I intend to get poles sorted (and placed), throw out the footprint and then get the tent out carefully.....
We worked out last time we pitched it took us around 15 mins to get it up to a "dry space" (i.e. not pegged) - and when packed we shut the doors (except the bottom zip) - so should stay reasonably dry???
