Done it twice so far - the only reason that we've not doneot more is family commitments.   A couple of years ago we got better weather in the October than we'd had when we'd been away in August, when it had blown a gale and rain most days, and we sat in the camper with the fire on a lot of the time.   In the October we were out everyday - the onlly day it rained was the last day, and that was only for a couple of hours inthe afternoon.

The previous time out, although cold we still had a great time, just wrapped up warm.  OK we had to cut our stay by one day, that was because the site was flooded.   It has been raining for weeks and in the end the ground simply couldn't cope.   

Although not camping (other people paying for the holiday not my choice) we have found that by taking warm clothes, it is great, and have had days were it has been very mild in the afternoon.
