Good reading http://zenstoves.net/COHazard.htm Basically if you have a good roaring blue flame you should be fine. Not a bbq (gas or charcoal). On the poles CO or hyperthermia, you take your choice! You cook in boats with a stove, petrol or gas and they are very well sealed.
