We've just come back a day early from our camping trip in Devon after over 24 hours continuous heavy rain. We have a 5 year old Outwell Vermont and noticed that the seam between the porch and main body of the tent started to leak to due the rain. Bubbles of water were coming through the stitch holes.
I know that the life of a nylon tent is shorter than that of canvas and that it is dependant on hours of UV exposure in addition to age. The tent has had about 10 weeks usage in total.
There was also a lot of water on the inside of the roof of the tent and I'm unsure whether this will be 'just' condensation due to the wet conditions or evidence of leaking through the fabric itself. We always have all of the air vents open in the tent to minimise the risk of condensation and this would be the first time we've had a condensation problem with this tent (saying that, this is the first trip we've had with such heavy and prolonged rain!)
So - dear more experienced campers, do I need to reseal the seams, if so how easy is it to do?
