Well we finally got in for the bank holiday at Cobbleacre Lakes in Norfolk.
We had some new toys to test - namely a Kalahari extension and a ehu.
I will fill the details in on the cobbleacre lakes later.
The tent we got up this time in twenty minutes, no arguing, and well chuffed. Timed it well as just as everything was emptied from the car the heavans opened. Bugger. It was off and on from full downpoor to a dribble, so the porch was going to be put up in wellies and waterproofs.
Little Gizmo still wouldnt settle, on his lead full extension but no just wouldnt stop mooching about like he lost a tenner and found 50p. Sorry i digress.
The Kalahari next - right how do you do it, read the instructions and gobbeldy gook. Cause you unwrap it and cant see which bit is called which on the thing. Bugger 2.
So guess work it is then
Actually goes up quite sensibly and with a little common sence fairly straight forward. Considering it is not made for our winster it wasnt to bad a fit. 2 little gaps round where our tent curves but everything else went in and over a treat. It helped with the rain as it didnt now drip in the doors.
The extra living space it created was wonderful. £70 well spent.
A little tweaking and it should fit a bit more snugly.
The EHU is an awesome addition, we bought a cheap toaster and kettle from Tesco to use on it and as long as i kept an eye on what was plugged in we never got near the 10 amps it trips at. Freed up the cooker as well. Most i had plugged it at anytime was 8 amps and that was all 3 sockets in use.
As for the trip it was brilliant, even with the rain.
Havent enjoyed a holiday so much since we were young and went on the broads.
I am still amazed your house fits in the car when you are done.
As for Gizmo, we bought him a chair of his own and he was as happy as larry. Went out to watch the world go by, and when he got chilly came in jumped on his chair (complete with fleece throw) and had a kip.
Even I enjoyed going to Sheringham and to the sea front (never did this when i lived in north norfolk)and having a mooch about. A couple of hours round potter heigham with Gizmo looking at boats and swans, while OH was visiting her daughter.
Gizmo so shattered he slept for 3 hours on the way home and got in and went straight to sleep on the sofa.
We could do the same but things to do .......... lol
