I have all my Camping gear insured on my houshold policy for loss or damage, I can't give you a price because each insurance company charges accordingly, you will have to tell them you want wind damage cover as well or you will only be covered for fire and theft, most insurance companies will insure anything, but at a price, only you can decide how much to pay, so shop arround, hope that helps!
Yep house insurance for me as well.I was just told anything we have away from the house is covered upto xxx amount so i asked does that include my tent and gear as we camp and the lass said yes anything.
We are with Direct Line for house insurance, they cover my camping gear but not my trailer for some reason. I will try and get that covered on my car insurance next time I renew.
CCC have insurance on their website. I am a member (although not sure you have to be) I did a quicky quote for Montana 6 worth 700, camping accessories 700 and other items 700 just to see what it would come out with and it was just under £50 a year. One of the nice things about not having it under your household insurance is that if you did need to claim for your camping gear it wouldn't effect your household insurance for next and subsequent years as that would be expensive - ouch!
I keep my travel insurance separate for same reason - actually wonder if that would cover it? Hmmm
