Well my tent has been through the wars.

Last year on the IOW during a windy storm I had a pole go through the side, fixed with the repair kit.

Unfortunately this weekend we took the tent out to start putting it up and immediately noticed an 8 inch rip in the roof, perfectly central.

Tent was fine last weekend so can only guess that putting it away somehow we ripped it. Applied duct tape for the weekend but need a more permanent solution.

Assume that a repair kit will be enough for a permanent fix?

Tenacious Tape on both sides will be at least as sturdy as using the repair kit, if not more.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Its a nice straight rip so nothing fancy required, will give that tape a go and can put the outwell patch over the top as well.

Strangely cant find any outwell patches online...

yep use tenacious tape, used it on a porch awning last week end. It even stuck in the poring rain and the repair is as good as new.

I had to repair my Monty 6 roof about three years ago with tenacious tape and it's still going strong. Make sure you round the edges (no corners as these are liable to peel up) I made two identical round patches for my repair and placed one on the outside and one on the inside and you can barely see them on the pale grey roof.

If you have a problem stressing you, sort it. If you can't, there's no point worrying about it coz it won't make a blind bit of difference!!!! Jules

I fixed out Hartford with a Lidl copy of tenacious tape but I applied Storm sure as well where the hole was.
