Thanks to everyone on here for there tips and advice our first trip camping was a complete success.
Me my wife, 3year old son and Labrador spent 3 nights at the beech croft farm at Buxton and we had a great time.
Our tent was up within 30 mins and we were cooking within an hour. My wife was very sceptical about it all but since returning she has spent most her time on GoOutdoors looking for a bigger tent our tent was fine, a outwell casagrande xl but the living room was simply to small, at night 3 of us and a dog it was a little cramped. Also with no sewn in groundsheet we had creepy crawlies to make room for as well manly daddy long legs.
We were very lucky with the weather until it came to packing up and it rained, so I've got to put it up again to dry.
Thanks everyone for your advice I'm off to get a tow bar fitted.
We took up camping a few years ago in our 50's so that was a good excuse to buy all the equipment we needed all at once, at a cost, but every time I go to Go Outdoors I see something else. I love shopping in there, makes me want to go camping straight away.
It starts with a bigger tent, then more stuff to fill it, then you chat with people on hear, and find upgrades, and spend more money, then you get that you carnt go to a camping shop without spending. Then when on site your looking at what other people have, and think "i could do with that " NEXT it will be a bigger car. I hope you have a spare room to store all the stuff you are going to collect over the years.
The spending never stops, and the camping bug is incurable.
Happy camping
