It was a decentish week weatherwise, except for a couple of very windy days and nights. The Carolina 3 proved its worth and despite a bit of swaying, stayed rock solid, no damage. The airbed however found a new home in the site bin after we went and bought a self inflating mattress, having got sick of blowing the airbed up again every night. I cant believe the difference in warmth! Another good buy.
Next on the list, an extension for the Carolina......any recommendations?
We have a Carolina M brilliant tents same as the 3 which we had previously but the side door is now on the opposite side.We have had numerous six man Outwell tents but definately prefer the Carolina love all the windows and the large living area.Glad to hear that you had decent weather which site did you go to Norfolk coast is lovely.Cheers.Alex
We had a lovely week in Norfolk in July, stayed at Old Brick Kilns at Barney near Fakenham. Good weather, even the sea was blue! Will go back next year hopefully.
SIMS are definitely warmer than airbeds! We have fat airics on top of an aerobed, held together by a fitted sheet.Toasty warm compared with pre SIM days. Slightly easier to get up from too, as slightly higher - need all the help I can get these days!
We were staying at West Runton C& CC site, nice little site not far from Cromer. More sheltered than other sites we passed locally. First time using the Handirack system too which I'm highly impressed with. The SIM was definitely warmer and that was without all my usual extra insulation. Will find some pics later.
I see you are asking about an extension for the Carolina 3 (M), We have the Carolina L and have just bought and tried out the Gelert Horizon 6 SIDE extension. It was a fantastic fit and more or less the same colour (you would have had to look very closely to know the tent and extension were not the same make). We didn't use the groundsheet they provided with the extension because we still used the side guy ropes of the tent. It was great for cooking in and just for sitting in when the weather was pretty grotty. It is wider than the dedicated outwell porch. It has a detachable front and curtains. Really recommend

Went past there several times on our trips out. Went and bought our storm strap from the shop there. Had a lovely day out in Wells, fish and chips sitting on harbour wall.
We spent last weekend at Woodhill Park, East Runton. Fab weather, even spent Saturday afternoon in the sea! Lovely area, will be back, but don't fancy it in the wind and rain!
