Didnt have much bother with condensation in our large tent, but been buying smaller tent, ( Vango Icarus 300 ) just for 2 of us, and, some bedding felt slightly damp on our camping trip at the weekend, which concerned me.
I love my new tent and this probably wont happen on warmer evenings, but what to do about this on colder evenings with heater on etc. We had our vents open during day.
We have our vents open all the time, and have doors open in the days as much as we can too.
We use.these at home and in parents caravan, although I must admit we've not tried them in tent yet. I can't see why they can't be used. We bought a box of 12 last year.

Vents should be open at night, doors can be opened during the day to air the tent. It's hard but try to avoid bringing anything wet into the tent such as wet clothing or wet dogs and finally cooking causes a lot of condensation so if you have a canopy or extension then cooking would be better carried out in them.
cut the leg out of an old pair of tights and fill it with wood based cat litter and hang from the roof - it will help to absorb moisture during the night when the tent is shut up.
Vents open 24/7, minimal sources of moisture inside the tent (wet dogs, wet clothing, laundry, cooking), air out tent and bedding fully every day.
Mind you you should be doing all that with a big tent too. Just because there's a bigger surface area doesn't mean you're not getting condensation, it's just more spread out. You'll still end up with damp corners (mildew) and clammy bedding if you don't ventilate and air the tent properly.
Dont cook inside and try not to have wet items in tent, usually throw them in car, but, do tend to shut vents, especially one above my bed at night so will leave open now. I always air bedding during day etc and leave doors open , but with small tent , was cold outside at weekend and heater on! but thanks again for tips, JAAB have never seen them before, thanks
You can't close the bedroom vent on the Vango Calisto - my husband complained a bit about the wind blowing in last week, but we had no problems with condensation.
Taking all tips on board, thanks. I like my camping heater on for short while to take chill off tent and only close vents when heater off and Im going to bed, but from now on I'll just keep them open all the time.
My sister has a 2009 Vango Icarus and I have the 2010 one. The difference is there's a large vent, more like a window above her head when she's sleeping, whereas mine has a much smaller (less draughty) vent that is wider but not as deep. I think my sis solved the problem of draughts by sleeping the other way round, so their feet were at the vent side, and not their heads. Might be an idea?
